Real Madrid Objects to 2025 Club World Cup
Real Madrid's management, headed by Florentino Perez, objected to the Club World Cup in its new format, which is supposed to be held in the summer of 2025.
The International Federation of Association Football "FIFA" announced that the tournament will be held with the participation of 32 clubs, led by Real Madrid, Manchester City, Al Hilal, Al Ahly of Egypt and other major clubs.
FIFA has set June and July 2025 to hold the global tournament in the United States of America for the first time in this format to be an expanded competition.
Reports indicated that Real Madrid is the first of the participating clubs to object, but the second after the English Premier League, to the timing of the tournament, especially since it will come at the end of the next season, which will start in August 2024.
Real Madrid will start their season with the European Super Cup match against Atalanta on August 14, and if they reach the 2025 Club World Cup final, their season will end on July 13, 2025.
Reports indicated that Real Madrid sees the matter as difficult, because the season will thus last for 11 consecutive months with almost no rest, and the number of matches will be 72 with the Club World Cup final.
It showed part of the talks taking place inside the Real Madrid fortress, where club officials say that (next season we will start in August and end in July, it is crazy, they will kill the players).
He explained that there is also the Intercontinental Cup, which returns at the end of this year, and let's not forget the new Champions League system, which may increase the number of Real Madrid matches during the season.
