Iran announced Monday evening that it had launched a barrage of missiles at US bases in Qatar and Iraq, in response to US attacks on Iranian nuclear sites.
Iranian state media reported the launch of Operation Bashair al-Fatah (Good Tidings of Conquest) against US bases in Qatar and Iraq, while Iran announced that it had launched an attack on US forces at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
Iran Bombs US Bases
Iranian state television broadcast footage of the attack, with an on-screen commentary describing it as "a powerful and successful response by the Iranian armed forces to America's aggression."
The attack came shortly after Qatar closed its airspace as a precaution amid threats from Iran. Iran targeted US bases in Qatar with six missiles.
Tasnim News Agency confirmed that "Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the headquarters of the Air Force and the largest strategic asset of the US military in the West Asia region, was subjected to an Iranian missile attack."
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard officially confirmed the "retaliatory missile attack on the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar."
Iran's Statement on the Attack on Al Udeid Air Base
Iran's highest security body revealed that "the armed forces used the same number of bombs as the United States used in attacking Iranian nuclear facilities."

Iran's highest security body stated that "this action does not pose any threat to our friendly and brotherly neighbor, Qatar."
Also, explosions were heard across Doha on Monday evening, shortly after Qatar closed its airspace in light of developments in the region following the US strikes on Iran and Tehran's vow to retaliate.

Explosions were heard in the center of the Qatari capital and in Lusail, north of Doha, while projectiles were seen in the air.
Circulared images showed Iranian missiles being intercepted over US bases in Qatar.
The New York Times reported that "Iran coordinated the attacks on the US air base in Qatar with Qatari officials and gave advance notice of the attacks to minimize casualties."
The Qatari Ministry of Defense said, "We intercepted a missile attack targeting Al Udeid Air Base." Qatar also confirmed that there were "no casualties" in the attack on the military base.
Qatar: We Reserve the Right to Respond to the Iranian Attack
Qatar said it reserves its "right to respond" after the Iranian attack. Qatar also clarified that "Al Udeid Air Base was evacuated earlier" in accordance with security measures.
In Iraq, a security official stated that missiles were fired at a base housing US forces in Iraq, while Reuters reported that air defenses were activated at Ain al-Asad Air Base in Iraq.
Military sources confirmed that a state of high alert had been declared and orders had been issued to go to shelters at Ain al-Asad Air Base.
For its part, the Iranian Armed Forces said, "We will not let any attack on our territory go unanswered under any circumstances."

The Iranian Armed Forces stated that "US bases in the region are a major weakness and a thorn in the side of the war-mongering US regime, not a point of strength."
The UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait close their airspace
The UAE announced this evening the closure of its airspace to protect its citizens and residents following the Iranian attack on US bases in the Gulf.
Bahrain also announced the temporary closure of its airspace amid concerns about an Iranian response to the US attacks.
Kuwait also announced the closure of its airspace in light of the developments in the Gulf region. Air raid sirens sounded in several Gulf states, and authorities called on citizens and residents to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place.
