The Ministry of Health in Gaza said in a statement on Tuesday that at least 38,713 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli military attack on the Strip since October 7.
The ministry said in a statement, on the 284th day of the Israeli attack on the Strip, that it counted among those who arrived at hospitals "49 martyrs and 69 injuries during the last twenty-four hours" until Tuesday morning.
Victims of the Israeli aggression
It indicated that the total number of wounded as a result of the Israeli attack on Gaza since October 27, 2023 "has reached 89,166 injuries since October 7."
It noted that there are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them.
On the other hand, the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education said on Tuesday that 9,241 students were killed and 15,182 were injured since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The Ministry of Education stated in a statement on Tuesday that the number of students killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression has reached more than 9,138, and those injured have reached 14,671, while 103 students were killed in the West Bank and 505 others were injured, in addition to 357 arrested.
Student and teacher deaths
It indicated that 497 teachers and administrators were killed and 3,426 were injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and more than 357 were arrested in the occupied West Bank.
It pointed out that 353 government schools, universities, university buildings, and 65 affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) were bombed and vandalized in the Gaza Strip, which led to 139 of them being severely damaged, and 93 being completely destroyed. In addition, 69 schools and 5 universities in the West Bank were stormed and vandalized, and 133 government schools were used as shelters in the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry of Education confirmed that 620,000 students in the Gaza Strip are still deprived of attending their schools since the beginning of the aggression, and 88,000 students are also deprived of attending their universities. The occupation also deprived 39,000 students from the Gaza Strip of taking the high school exam, while most students suffer from psychological trauma and face difficult health conditions.
