The Israeli Ministry of Health announced that the number of people reported to have died from West Nile fever, as of yesterday, Monday, reached 32 deaths.

The Israeli Ministry of Health indicated that the number of people diagnosed with West Nile fever, the disease caused by mosquito bites, reached 440, according to the Times of Israel.

The ministry explained that "in general, about 80% of those infected do not show symptoms of the viral disease, and about 20% of those infected will show symptoms of varying severity, including fever, general malaise, headache or general body pain, and neurological complications will appear in less than 1% of those infected.

According to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation "Kan", in the year 2000, 425 cases of the disease were recorded, but in 2024 the number of infected people exceeded this number after the first 7 months.

Since 2000, the average number of people infected with the aforementioned fever in Israel has been about 100 people annually.
