White House announces Biden's infection with the Corona virus

The White House press service confirmed, at dawn on Thursday, that President Joe Biden was diagnosed with the Corona virus, noting that he is suffering from mild symptoms after being infected with the virus.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement: "Earlier today, following his first event in Las Vegas, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19."

She added that the American leader received the vaccine and is currently suffering from mild symptoms of the disease. She also indicated that Biden intends to isolate himself at his residence in the state of Delaware while continuing to serve as President of the United States.

Biden's attending physician indicated that the president is suffering from a runny nose, cough and a general feeling of malaise.

The doctor said in a statement issued by the White House: "He felt fine at the first event, but since his health did not improve, a COVID-19 test was performed and the result was positive."

Biden will not speak at the event in Las Vegas because of his coronavirus infection, said Janet Murguia, president of the Hispanic advocacy group UnidosUS, shortly before the White House confirmed it.
