After her death.. a love letter from Alan Hamel to his wife Suzanne Somers
We rarely hear about stories of love and loyalty these days, but the story of Alan Hamel and Suzanne Somers is a living example that love and loyalty remain and will continue to remain in our lives, inspiring a spirit of hope and optimism from time to time.
• Alan Hamel's letter to his wife, Suzanne Somers
Alan Hamel wrote a very wonderful and beautiful poem for his wife, Suzanne Somers, of 46 years, which she read the night before she "passed peacefully in her sleep" on Sunday morning.
Corey Hay, who is known to be Somers' longtime publicist, tells PEOPLE that Hamill, 87 — to whom Somers has been married since 1977 after dating for 10 years — "gave it to her the day before and she read the poem and she went to bed and later passed away peacefully." In her sleep."
• Love letters from Alan Hamel
“I like to use it every day, sometimes several times a day,” Alan wrote in his poem to his wife. I use it at the end of emails to my loving family. I even use it in emails to close friends. I use it when I leave the house.
He added: “There is love, then I love you and I love you!! Here are some of the different ways we use love. Sometimes I feel compelled to use love, in replying to someone who has fallen in love in their email, when I don't feel comfortable using love but I use it anyway.
• Go forward indefinitely
"I could go on endlessly, but you get it," Hamel's letter read. "What kind of love do I feel for my wife Susan? Can I find it in any of the above? A resounding no! No version of the word applies to Susan," Hamel's letter read. I even use the word appropriately.”
Alan Hamel concluded: “I returned to feelings. There are no words. There are no procedures. no promises. No statements. Even the green-shaded scholars at Oxford University Press spent 150 years and still failed to come up with that one word. So I will call it “the United States,” uniquely, charmingly, and indescribably wonderful.
“Susan was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family,” the statement continued. “Her family gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday on October 16. Instead, they will celebrate her extraordinary life, and want to thank the millions of fans and followers who loved her so much.
