The US House of Representatives fails to elect a new president

During the third ballot and heading towards a new round of voting

The US House of Representatives

The US House of Representatives failed to elect a Speaker during the third ballot, as none of the candidates obtained the votes necessary to win (217 votes), which means that the House will have to hold a new round of voting.

Republican candidate for Speaker of the House, Jim Jordan, did not receive enough votes to succeed Kevin McCarthy, who was removed from the position in early October.
