Trump talks about the mystery that saved his life

"A graph behind me saved my life." With these words, former US President Donald Trump revealed the details of his escape from death.

In a conversation between Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his doctor, the latter confirmed that the former president told him that "if the position of the bullet had changed by one centimeter, he would not have been alive," explaining that a simple turn of his head spared him from almost certain death, according to the American newspaper "The New York Times."

The former US president also told his doctor, Ronny Jackson, over the phone a few hours after the assassination attempt, that "a graph behind him saved his life."

Trump turned to point to a graph displaying statistics on illegal immigration on a screen to his right, shortly before he was shot, explaining that this simple turn saved his life.

Trump suffered a minor injury to his right ear, adding: "That moment - that little gesture - probably saved my life. If I hadn't done that, the bullet would have gone right through my head and I would have been dead."

Trump was the target of an assassination attempt on Saturday while addressing a crowd of supporters at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

Secret Service agents immediately escorted Trump, 78, out of the rally, blood streaming down his face.

One person at the rally was killed, two others were seriously injured, and the assailant was killed.

Hours after the attack, Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social: "It is more important than ever that we stand together and not let evil prevail."
