Biden: One thing that could push me to withdraw

US President Joe Biden has vowed to continue his bid for re-election on November 5, and attacked the record of his rival, former President Donald Trump.

This came in Biden's first political speech since the assassination attempt on his Republican rival. The US president also revealed the only reason that could push him to withdraw from the presidential race.

Biden said during an interview with the "BET News" network that the only thing that could push him to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race is if he develops a medical condition, or if a doctor tells him that he has a health problem.

The US president said: "If I had a medical condition, if a doctor came to me and said I have this problem or that. I made a huge mistake in the whole debate, but look, when I first ran, you may remember, I said I would be a transitional candidate. I thought I would be able to pass it on to someone else. But I didn't expect things to reach this level of division."

Biden also renewed his pledge to continue the presidential race, but made clear during his speech that his running mate, Kamala Harris, is not only a great running mate, but she could also be "president of the United States."
