Doctors and health experts often warn of the dangers of food dyes and colorings to everyone's health, especially the health of children and young people, who are the most likely to consume fast food outside the home.
Kraft Heinz will stop using artificial dyes in its US products by 2027, and the company has confirmed that it will not use any artificial colors in future products.

This change includes popular jelly, ice cream, and beverage products, such as Jell-O, Kool-Aid, and Crystal Light.
The Dangers of Food Dyes
According to HealthDay, artificial dyes—such as Red 40, Yellow 5 and 6, Blue 1 and 2, and Green 3—are used in everything from candy and frosting to pie crust and salad dressing.
These dyes are used to make foods appear more appealing or to restore color lost during processing.
But many health experts, including those in the US government, are now opposed to them.
Last April, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Food and Drug Administration announced a plan to work with food companies to remove six artificial dyes from the U.S. food supply by the end of 2026.
While some food industry groups argue that the dyes are safe and approved by regulators, others are already changing course.
Companies Working on the Same
Other companies are also working to reduce or replace artificial dyes.

Kraft Heinz reports that nearly 90% of its U.S. products are free of artificial dyes. However, some popular products still contain them.
The company explained that it will remove the colors, replace them with natural ones, or substitute different colors if exact matching colors are not possible. In some products that do not require color, the colors may be removed altogether.
