The Italian Prime Minister announces her separation from her husband
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced that she has separated from her husband and the father of her young daughter, after a marriage that lasted for nearly a decade, ABC News reported.
Meloni said, in a statement posted on social media, that her relationship with television journalist Andrea Gambruno has ended.
This week marks the first anniversary of the Meloni government, the first government in Italy headed by a woman and the first administration led by the far-right since the end of World War II.
Melonie, who was raised by her mother after her father left the family, and Gambrono have a daughter named Ginevra, who is 7 years old.
In her statement, Meloni thanked Gambruno for their relationship, and stressed that she would defend their friendship.
She added: I did not have my father’s love, so I will defend at all costs a 7-year-old girl who loves her mother and loves her father.
