Negative eating habits that cause anemia
Iron deficiency is a common disease, but many people do not even know that they suffer from this nutritional problem, unless the doctor suspects a problem and a test is done.
Most people think that iron deficiency simply means not eating enough, but factors that weaken iron absorption are a major cause of the problem.
According to "Study Finds", there are 3 factors or eating habits that can hinder or increase iron absorption.
The first of these factors is not eating enough vitamin C with iron-rich foods, to improve the body's absorption of the mineral.
The body absorbs only 5% of plant iron inputs, and 20% of animal iron inputs, and to ensure full access to this percentage, vegetables should be eaten with meat, for example, to obtain vitamin C, especially since the body does not store this vitamin.
The second factor is eating a lot of calcium with iron-rich foods, as calcium hinders the body's absorption of iron.
This means that eating cheese with your burger, for example, will act as a barrier to the use of iron in the meat.
The third factor is drinking tea and coffee in large quantities, as they are rich in compounds called oxalates and polyphenols, both of which can reduce iron absorption.
If you drink these beverages, try to have them with iron-rich meals, rather than making them your favorite drink.
