Inflation in Kuwait rose

Data from the Central Administration of Statistics in Kuwait showed that consumer price indexes (inflation) in Kuwait rose by 3.73 percent during last September on an annual basis.

Today, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) quoted a statement from the Statistics Center that the inflation rate in Kuwait rose in September by 0.31 percent on a monthly basis compared to last August.

The statement added that the rise in inflation on an annual basis was due to an increase in the prices of the main groups affecting the movement of index numbers.

The statement explained that the consumer price index last August, excluding food and beverages, recorded an increase of 3.3 percent on an annual basis.

The consumer price index is a tool for measuring price levels generally between two periods, monthly or annual, and is usually a basis indicator for measuring economic growth or contraction, as the state can through it make economic and commercial decisions and formulate financial and monetary policies.
