The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Sunday that 29 of its employees have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7.

The agency said that 29 of our colleagues in the Gaza Strip have been confirmed killed since October 7, half of them teachers, adding, “We are in a state of shock and mourning.”

According to UNRWA: “12 displaced people who had taken refuge in United Nations schools were killed and nearly 180 others were injured since the beginning of the conflict.”

38 facilities belonging to the UN agency were also damaged.

The agency indicated in a separate statement that it was about to run out of fuel, saying, “UNRWA will run out of fuel within three days, and without fuel there will be no water and there will be no working hospitals and bakeries.”

She added: "Without fuel, aid will not reach many civilians who desperately need it."

On October 7, the Hamas movement launched an attack on Israel, the most violent in the history of the Hebrew state, which responded by continuously bombing the Gaza Strip and mobilizing tens of thousands of its soldiers at its borders in preparation for a ground operation.

The death toll in the Gaza Strip rose to 4,651 people, including 1,873 children, 1,023 women, and 187 elderly people, while 14,245 people were injured with various injuries, according to what was announced by the Hamas Ministry of Health.

More than 1,400 people were killed on the Israeli side, most of them civilians who died on the first day of the Hamas attack, according to the Israeli authorities.
