Salah opened the scoring from a penalty kick in the 75th minute, which Liverpool won after Michael Keane touched the ball with his hand inside the penalty area, then doubled the score in stoppage time.

Salah's goals came three days after he requested "immediate provision of humanitarian assistance" to the residents of Gaza in light of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, noting that he did not celebrate his two goals.

Liverpool rose to the top of the standings temporarily with 20 points, while Everton ranks 16th.

Everton, which has achieved one win in its last 29 matches against Liverpool, played with ten players after Young was sent off in the 37th minute, following a strong intervention against Luis Diaz, as a result of which he received a second yellow card.
